A Unique Honeymoon Story

Here’s a romantic honeymoon idea: rent your own personal sailboat and travel the coast of Mexico!

Read what Kevin has to say about his unforgettable honeymoon to Mexico:

My wife and I have been married for ten years, but I will never forget our honeymoon to Mexico. We spent two weeks traveling through the country, stopping at several locations including Cozumel, Puetro Vallarta and Cancun. This was quite an adventure because we traveled on our personal sailboat, so there were no flights or hotel reservations to worry about. So instead of staying in a hotel and renting a car, we simply found a slip that we could rent and our boat could stay docked in each night. By using our boat we were able to travel at our own pace watching the scenery as it passed us by, taking our time. Also, this gave use plenty of time to ourselves with little public interaction and interruption, making for a very romantic trip. When on-shore we did take tours and excursions, including scuba diving off the coast of Cozumel, where we saw dolphins and shopping in Cancun for shawls and hats. Every day we also spent a few hours walking the shores, playing in the waves and resting in the sand. Restaurants were probably the best part of the trip since there was such a variety to choose from. Each night we ate out and danced. Other meals we either prepared on our boat or eaten from small take-out or fast food places. Although we did provide our own transportation, the trip did cost about $2000 which included fuel for the boat, food, shopping and entertainment. It can be rather easy to lose track of spending, especially since the tourist areas have inflated prices, so be careful with your money. Be prepared to spend, but don’t spend too much. Mexico, no matter where you go, is a great place, not only for honeymoons, but also family vacations. There is so much adventure and excitement that can be found, it is worth the time to travel.
