Holidays In Poland Make For Great Honeymoons
Sometimes you want to hit several cities on a European trip, but it can also be great to find one wonderful place and immerse yourself in it and enjoy the history and romance. Warsaw, Poland may not be the first place on your mind when you’re weighing destinations like London and Paris, but it can be the perfect honeymoon city. That’s exactly what Marianna and her husband experienced on their honeymoon.
My husband and I both adore Europe. Before we got together, we each had been to Europe on several occasions. My husband is more of an adventurer and I am a larger fan of big, popular cities such as London and Paris. At first, this difference between us was a bit of a conflict as each time one of us mentioned a potential honeymoon city to the other, it was either too mundane or too adventurous. Finally, we decided to make our honeymoon both meaningful and memorable so we decided on retracing part of our heritage. Both my husband and I are part Polish. So, we compromised and decided to go to Warsaw, Poland for our honeymoon. Neither one of us truly knew what to expect. However, when we arrived in Warsaw, we knew we made the correct decision. We flew on American Airlines and British Airlines to Poland. We got an excellent deal on a room at the Sheraton. The hotel rooms were incredible. Our room had a marble bathroom and a flat screen television. The bed was comfortable, and we even had a nice view of the city from the window of our room. The hotel was not all-inclusive, but there was a very nice restaurant in the lobby. In terms of activities, the possibilities in Warsaw are endless. Both my husband and I very much enjoy museums, so we visited a history museum as well as an art museum. One of the most enjoyable activities was simply walking through the architecturally rich streets of Warsaw and visiting the old town area. The Sheraton is also very close to an incredibly large park in the city center. There are several famous, old buildings at the park. All of the activities and restaurants we chose to eat at were relatively inexpensive. Poland was still using the Zloty. This fact made any activity affordable as we did not suffer through exchanging dollars into euros. Our budget for our trip was $2000. We flew out of Chicago and only had one layover in London. We stayed five nights at the Sheraton and in total, the trip cost $1950. However, we did buy a few souvenirs, but the basic travel and lodging cost was under our budget of $2000. I would definitely recommend Warsaw to anyone as an inexpensive international vacation.
