Carnival Cruise Reviews: Spotlight On The Destiny Caribbean Voyage

It’s fun to unpack into only one room for the week, but every morning wake up at a new amazing Caribbean Island! And Carnival’s cruise lines have packages especially tailored for honeymooners! Rick and his wife had the perfect honeymoon voyage on Carnival’s Destiny Cruise out of San Juan:

My new wife and I cruised on Carnival’s Destiny out of San Juan for our honeymoon in 2006. Our cruise was during October, potentially in hurricane season, but it had a Southern Caribbean itinerary that we hoped would not be affected by storms (and it was not!) We had never been on a cruise before, and the ports of call were the U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominica, Barbados, and Aruba. We found that it was a fantastic adventure for us, and a great honeymoon. Our favorite feature is that you unpack into one room for the whole week, but every morning you wake up at a new island. We took advantage of room service, so we ended up greeting each day with fruit, toast, and juice while we sat on our veranda and watched the ship come into port. Each island had its own flavor – helmet diving and swimming in the U.S. Virgin Islands, hiking to a waterfall in Dominica, shopping and exploring in Barbados, and horseback riding in Aruba. There were a myriad of fun things to do on the ship as well, and Carnival took special care of those who were on their honeymoon. We were seated with other newlyweds at dinner, and our waiter brought a cake to us on the first night so that we could celebrate together. Aside from meals, they had special contests for newlyweds, and also hosted events for new cruisers, which ended up being a double bonus for us! On board, our favorite activity was afternoon tea, which apparently no one else was aware of. Every afternoon, my wife and I went to the lounge where three or more waiters served us tea and snack cakes until we could not eat any more (since they had no other customers.) All cruise ships have these types of amenities, however, so if you are thinking of going on a cruise of any type for your honeymoon, I can guarantee that you will both have the time of your life!
