Best Honeymoon Places: England Is One Of Them!
Have you ever thought of going on a honeymoon in England? You can travel all over England have an amazing honeymoon, experiencing a wide variety of lovely sites, comforts, and adventures. That’s what Maye and her husband did. From enjoying the fun and romantic countryside to regal palaces, amazing historic sites, and even staying at a bed and breakfast near the REAL Sherwood Forest, it was the perfect honeymoon:
My husband and I travelled all over England for our honeymoon. We stayed in some lovely places, and went back and forth between exploring posh cities and hiking through the country side. We stayed in a lovely Bed and Breakfast near Sherwood Forest, and while we were in Nottingham we went to a really entertaining museum where a guided tour told us about the history of the legend of Robin Hood. Then we stayed in Bath for a week, which was lovely. There are a lot of unique restaurants and shops in Bath, and so we ate well and saw some wonderful theatrical performances. We also spent a few days in Stratford on Avon, where Shakespeare was born, and took in several plays at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Another thing we did was visit several castles and palaces. Hampton Court Palace was amazing; the tour showed us a lot of interesting history, and we had a wonderful meal at the restaurant housed in the castle. There is also an enormous rose garden and an English garden maze there, which we had some fun getting lost in together.
Our whole trip was very romantic. Exploring castles, seeing good plays, and getting lost together in beautiful gardens was just what we needed to set the standard for our life together. I’d definitely encourage anyone travelling through England to spend some time in Oxford, Bath, and Stratford on Avon. We were surprised and delighted to discover that Oxford has a great night life. We spent some time in London too, but actually had a lot more fun in Oxford. During the day we hit all the museums and walked around getting pictures, and at night we hopped from club to club dancing. Oxford has some very cool old pubs; my husband really enjoyed taking pictures of the signs and trying all the local beers and ciders. I enjoyed all the dance clubs, each of which had their own flavor. We remember one that was in a renovated cathedral, a salsa club, and a gothic nightclub called the Purple Turtle. We made some really cool local friends while we were on our own pub crawl, and still keep in touch with those folks now. All in all, our honeymoon was amazing. We had saved for the trip for a while, and our families really helped us out. We were able to do a lot more with the money we had by getting a good deal on plane tickets. We saved several hundred dollars each by taking a bus to Toronto and flying out of there. It was also nice because we got to spend a few days there, too. Staying in bed and breakfasts for about half of the trip also turned out to be less expensive than hotels, and I think we got to stay in nicer places with really welcoming atmospheres because of it.
