Hawaii Honeymoon Resorts: Some Top Vacation Spots To Consider

When you think about the perfect honeymoon locations, Hawaii is always at the top of the list. But is it really as good as you think? Absolutely, according to David and Sherri, who had a great honeymoon, hitting all the main stops on the islands, and said it was the best ten days they ever spent, and it didn’t even cost too much! They’re going back for their anniversary. Read why!

When my wife and I got married, one of the first things we agreed on was to honeymoon in Hawaii. We booked a ten day three island vacation, which included 5 nights in Kauai, 5 nights in Oahu, and a day trip to Hilo on the big island of Hawaii. We used a travel agent to coordinate the flights and hotels. We flew US Air out of Philadelphia, and had one stop over in Chicago on our way to Oahu. The flight was about twelve to thirteen hours. We left early in the morning eastern standard time, and arrived in Hawaii in late afternoon, due to the time changes. Our hotels were very nice. We stayed at a Hyatt in Oahu and the Princeville Resort in Kauai. The Princeville was absolutely gorgeous, definitely a five star hotel, with beautiful views and convenient access to the beach. On Oahu, we did a lot of sightseeing. We went to Hickam Air Force Base and visited Pearl Harbor. We hiked up Diamond Head. We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center where we saw many native dances and participated in a luau. We visited Angel Falls. We bought some great clothes at Hilo Hattie. We also went snorkeling and spent one day taking a cruise around the island on a boat tour. We also visited the Punchbowl, which was the Arlington National Cemetery of the Pacific. It was very beautiful and informative. Before going to Kauai, we took a day trip to see the National Volcano Park on the big island of Hawaii. We flew Aloha Airlines and got there within an hour. We toured active volcanoes. We visited black sand beaches in Hilo. We rented a car from Alamo, and drove all over the island. We had native Hawaiian breakfast and lunch at local eateries. We flew late at night back to Oahu, and then spent five days in Kauai relaxing. We visited a pineapple plantation. We went hiking, swimming, played golf, wind surfed, and sunbathed. The honeymoon cost $6,000. We spent another $1,000 on clothes and gifts for family members. It was the best ten days I’ve ever spent. Hawaii is beautiful, and well worth every penny. My wife and I plan to go back on our twentieth anniversary.
